Born in New Orleans,
raised on the isle of Bermuda with intermittent
stays in urban Toronto, Colin Harper is not an
easy youth to pin down geographically. His
musical alter ego Collie Buddz
however, is one of the most firmly grounded
voices you may ever encounter. Incorporating
influences from hip-hop to soca, Collie’s music
nevertheless has a rock-solid foundation in
reggae - and its power to connect ghetto reality
with the highest heights of human aspiration -
that is a rarity even in Jamaica.
“Nowadays when I go to put
on a CD, its old tune: Alton Ellis, The
Meditations, The Heptones, Skatalites, Jacob
Miller, Eric Monty Morris; love the rockers
music. From that I start to teach myself some of
the history of this music, that’s where I
started to come a little more versatile with the
singin’…the foundation just straight reality,
yunno. I like dancehall, but de foundation and
conscious tune really what me love.”
Collie Buddz last Boston
appearance was sold-out weeks in advance and
became ground zero for the city’s sexiest
females (every color & sizes). This time get
your tickets early as you don’t want to miss it
when Collie Buddz comes around, because the
ladies are never too far behind. Get your
tickets today!!!!!!!

2009 Grammy Winner - Best Reggae
Album
Burning Spear
is one of the most brilliant and respected roots
artists in Jamaica's history, Burning Spear (aka
Winston Rodney)
has unleashed a host of classic dread records over the years.
Part Rastafarian preacher, part black historian, more than any
other roots artist, Burning Spear has illuminated Rastafarianism
in song, sharing his beliefs with an avid public.
Born in St. Ann's Bay, Jamaica, in 1948, it was another St.
Ann's native, Bob Marley, who set Rodney off to Kingston and a
fateful meeting with Studio One head
Coxsone Dodd. Although the Wailers had
departed the label three years earlier in 1966, Marley still
believed that it was the best place for a new talent to start.
Spear took his advice and, with singing partner
Rupert Willington in tow, auditioned three songs for the
producer. Dodd immediately picked one, "Door Peep," as the
pair's debut. Before its release, however,
Rodney chose the name Burning Spear for the
duo.

Barrington Levy is a
star of Jamaican original dancehall music. Known as the
Mellow Canary of Reggae, he is a natural crooner with a
voice that is both loud and lilting. Beginning his career as
a protegé of Henry "Junjo" Lawes, Levy remains a trendsetter
and a perennial favorite at concerts worldwide, known for
his straight-out singing style. While his early career began
with dancehall in the 1980s, in the 1990s he helped usher in
the "jungle craze" of reggae music, in which deejays used
remixes of his music to invent an all-new sound for the new
millennium.
Born on April 30, 1964, in West Kingston,
Jamaica, Levy spent his formative years in
the city's rough Waterhouse neighborhood and in Clarendon.
Drawn in his youth to such local reggae musicians as Dennis
Brown, Levy was also inspired by American R&B artists like
the Jackson 5. In early adolescence, Levy and his cousin
Everton Dacres formed a musical combo they called the Mighty
Multitude, recording a single, "My Black Girl," in 1975.
Levy released his solo debut single, "A Long Time Since We
Don't Have No Love," in 1978, and in the same year sang
backup vocals for both Byron Lee and the Dragonaires and
Barry Biggs.
